When the upper eyelid descends from its normal position or drops to approach or cover the pupil. This can be congenital or acquired and is clinically classified as minimal (1-2 mm), moderate (2-4 mm), or severe (4 mm or greater). The procedure is done through the inside of the upper lid and basically the procedure involves tightening the small muscle that raises the position of the eyelid.
