Crystalens™ is the first and only FDA approved accommodating intraocular lens.  It is the only lens to provide a single focal point throughout a continuous range of vision from far to near while at the same time, using the natural focusing ability of the eye. Crystalens is engineered with a hinge designed to allow the optic part of the lens to move back and forth as you constantly focus on images around you.

Often by a person's late 40's, the eye's natural crystalline lens begins to enlarge and harden.  This can be followed by the formation of a cataract.  Overtime, it may become difficult for the muscle in the eye to automatically focus your lens on the people and things in your life that matter most.  The Crystalens actually flexes and moves within the eye allowing it to change power or accommodate.  This lens allows clear vision at distance and intermediate ranges, but objects at near distances may still be somewhat out of focus.  The advantage of this lens is less night glare and sharper contrast.
