Say hello to our new provider, Dr. Eric Saidi!
We are happy to announce that Dr. Saidi is seeing patients for complete exams for glasses and contacts. Since Dr. Saidi is a therapeutic optometrist, he will also be able to treat patients for medical conditions. Dr. LoBue and staff are excited to welcome Dr. Saidi to the team.
Dr. Saidi began his studies at University of California, Irvine, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Knowing he wanted to pursue a career in optometry, Dr. Saidi enrolled at Western University of Health Sciences. While there, he researched vision science and published his findings, earning him his Master of Science degree. The information he discovered directly contributed to his knowledge as an optometrist.
When the time came to choose a university for optometry, Dr. Saidi knew Western University’s College of Optometry was the right choice. Located in Pomona, this university emphasizes innovation and the importance of patient care. If you think Dr. Saidi looks familiar, you’re right – he completed his final round of professional externship training here at LoBue Laser and Eye Medical Center. Dr. Saidi made such an impression on our patients and doctors that Dr. LoBue knew he would make an excellent team member.
Community care has always been a priority for Dr. Saidi. During his time as a student, he participated in school vision screenings for children in the Pomona Valley. As an Orange County native, it was also important to Dr. Saidi to give back to his hometown. With this in mind, he worked with the Lion’s Club to participate in vision screenings for the whole community.
A natural leader, Dr. Saidi rose to the top as president of his optometry class. Always aiming high, Dr. Saidi pursued student fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry. As a student fellow, Dr. Saidi was given the opportunity to expand his knowledge and hone his skills. He received the honor of being selected for the Gold Key Optometric Society, which has been named “the highest honor for leadership a student of optometry can achieve.”
When he’s not helping your family achieve their vision goals, Dr. Saidi can be found traveling across the states to hike and bike the National Parks. He is also an avid musician, with special interest in guitar, bass, and violin. Before becoming an optometrist, Dr. Saidi shared his love for music as a string instrument instructor with his own lesson studios in the cities of Orange and Costa Mesa.
